Description

Research shows career related learning needs to start early so that children can expand their horizons and learn about as many careers. Students start to adopt stereotypes based on gender, ethnicity, and social background from a young age, which often influences their career and subject choices.  Career related learning in primary schools is not about students deciding about the course or career they wish to pursue. It is about helping them to understand there are many options open to them.

If you want to learn how you can help broaden students’ aspirations and have a positive impact on their future life choices, attending this event will increase your knowledge in how to provide quality career related learning in your school. An overview of the ISV Career Allsorts program for primary schools will also be provided.

Key takeaways

  • deeper understanding of the benefits of career related learning in primary school
  • strategies to broaden your students’ aspirations and challenge stereotypes
  • strategies to support career related learning in the classroom
  • actions you can take to help strengthen career related learning in your school.
