Description
You have some understanding of the instructional core and tasks. You’ve practiced analysing tasks. Now what does it look like to integrate that understanding and skill with your everyday practice? How can you apply that understanding to everything you do, and thus deepen learning?
In this session, we will invite you to bring tasks from your own context and workshop those tasks with colleagues. What kind of learning would you predict from that classroom, from that teacher team meeting, from that leadership team meeting? How well does that prediction match your aspiration? What might you do to clearly and consistently use tasks to drive hoped-for learning for the children and adults you serve? We will also discuss common dilemmas and questions, as well as your particular dilemmas and questions, around task.
This session is intended to both build from the session on Wednesday 10 May as well as stand alone as its own session. Depending on your learning needs, you could sign up for one or both sessions. This session will focus on using your own work to develop mastery around task and will assume you have some foundational work in task, either from 10 May, attending Liz’s prior sessions, or from your own experience.
Key takeaways
- deeper understanding of task and how to not just analyse tasks, but shift them closer to hoped-for learning
- developing a collaborative practice rooted in tasks
- tools and ideas to take back to your school.
