Description

Feuerstein’s Instrumental Enrichment Basic 2 is a cognitive enrichment program that creates systematic, persistent, and structured conditions to engage young children in problem-solving by developing their ability to understand and elaborate information.

Instrumental Enrichment Basic 2 includes a deeper dive into the theories of structural cognitive modifiability and mediated learning and includes the instruments Compare and Find the Absurd 2, Empathy to Action, Think and Learn to Prevent Violence, Tri Channel Attentional Learning, and Know and Identify.

This course targets children from ages 4 - 9 years old and is certified by the Feuerstein Institute and facilitated by qualified and experienced Feuerstein trainers. Additional learning will occur outside specified course hours to meet the 45-hour course requirements.

Instrumental Enrichment Basic 1 is a prerequisite for this course.

Diane Bourke is a Project Manager at Independent Schools Victoria after a long career as Head of Junior School. Diane facilitates a variety of projects including Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment, Junior Great Books and Project Wayfinder. She has a passion for reading and learning and strongly believes that a great teacher is one who never stops the quest for collaboration and growth.

Nikki Maguire   

Nikki Maguire is an experienced educator and consultant in primary, secondary and tertiary education across Independent, government and Catholic sectors. She has a passion for learning innovation, inclusive authentic agency, and well-being-centred education practices. Nikki has a Masters in Inclusive Education and is a certified International Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment trainer and facilitator, Project Wayfinder trainer, certified Highly Accomplished and Lead Teaching assessor and innovationXdesign facilitator. She has direct experience in diverse learning, academic coaching, wellbeing, school strategic planning and program design and delivery.
